SODA explores various solutions (existing and new) to provide consolidated solution to manage your snapshots, replications and recovery. Using data protection policies, snapshots can be programmed to be taken at intervals, and can be replicated to different storage, or to the cloud for disaster recovery.

SODA strives to bring industry experts together to tackle this key challenge by providing unified access policies, access management and fool proof data securing solutions.
Today, each cloud vendor or storage solution providers give different lifecycle methodologies. This makes it hard to do data lifecycle management across edge, on-prem and multiple clouds. SODA combines different storage resources on-premise, and across multiple clouds to build tiers. Using data lifecycle policies, data that meets the lifecycle conditions is moved to the next tier, allowing data to be stored efficiently throughout their lifecycle. SODA tries to bring a transparent, vendor agnostic solution for the same.
One of the key factors driving the cloud migration of deployments is cloud native ecosystem and Kubernetes today. SODA provides persistent storage to Kubernetes stateful workloads with the SODA CSI driver. SODA connects storage systems on the backend and consolidate them into storage pools for dynamic provisioning. Multi-vendor cloud native storage that support CSI can also be plugged into SODA backend, so that they can be managed with a common SODA CSI driver, reducing complex multi-driver management. This can open up a new way of consolidating heterogeneous cloud native storage management through standard API layer.
SODA integrates multiple application platforms (like Kubernetes, OpenStack, VMWare and more) and provides a unified interface to heterogeneous storage backends seamless with its unique data platform. It strives to build standard platform for all data and storage management from different platforms/ applications. Administration, Management, Monitoring, Alert Management and Anomaly detection across different platform clusters over heterogeneous storage backend can be done efficiently using SODA solutions.
SODA is working to support data orchestration for IoT, edge, big data, machine learning and other popular application frameworks, across different backend storage, platforms and multiple clouds by building an efficient distributed data store. This is one of the key focus areas which the SODA team believes that, it can facilitate all the data related requirements at edge, onprem and cloud/hybrid cloud. Also we envisions to get a scalable, microservice based data store platform, which can even get deployed for p2p networks in the future.
